The tile installation process

Once you've made your purchase, a Gilman Floors representative will contact you to confirm your installation appointment. You’ll discuss everything you need to know prior to your installation. In the meantime, however, there are a few key things to know to properly prepare in advance.

First, you'll need to prepare the room. While our team will move your furniture for you, you'll need to move any fragile items and empty any closets. You'll also want to make sure you handle any other projects, like painting, before your tile installation. After all, you don’t want to drip paint on your new tile!

On the day of the installation, an adult member of your household (at least 18 years of age) will need to be home to show our installers to the work area. We'll evaluate the space and make sure your subfloor is ready. Tile has specific subfloor requirements, so this step may take some time.

From there, we'll work on installing your tile. During this time, keep pets and children away from the area until the installation is complete.

After your installation is over, you'll need to stay off your floors for a set amount of time so that the grout can properly cure. We'll let you know how long it'll be before you can start enjoying your new tile!

Tile Care & Maintenance

Tile is easy to care for, and it's also incredibly durable. However, it does require some specific care and maintenance to keep it performing its very best.
